Staff at Bramalea Dentistry
Betty is the chief receptionist
for Bramalea Dentistry, having worked with Dr. Perlmutter since
1977. She has learned much about dentistry, dental insurance
claims, and computers. Betty has trained many part-time receptionists
(mostly young students) who have been important members of our
team. She has been the beneficiary of cosmetic dentistry by
Dr. Perlmutter, and has her photo displayed at our reception
desk. |

Nancy, who worked with Bramalea Dental
Group as a chairside assistant for one of the associate dentists,
in the early 1980’s, returned to work for Dr. Perlmutter
in 1990. She subsequently upgraded her qualifications to become
a preventive dental assistant. Since 1996, she has been a
member of the Ontario Dental Nurses & Assistants Association
(ODAA). Nancy was honoured with a feature
article by ODAA in February, 2007. Her current duties
with Bramalea Dentistry are many:
- in charge of the children’s
programme – She supervises the children cleaning
their teeth, educating them and their parents.
- chairside assisting Dr. Perlmutter
- receptionist when Betty is away
- office manager
- supervises and trains dental assisting students
- Patient Treatment Co-ordinator – Nancy is our principal
treatment co-ordinator. She explains treatment plans, insurance
details, and financing options and arranges convenient appointments.
Having herself been a dental patient of Dr. Perlmutter,
experiencing and benefiting from his superb cosmetic dentistry
(with her before and after photos on display in the reception
room), she can talk authoritatively and from personal experience
about the treatment many of our patients want or need.

| Jolanta joined Bramalea Dental Group in 1989,
immigrating from Poland with no dental experience. She became
fluent in English. With us she learned dental assisting and
passed her H.A.R.P. certification to make dental radiographs.
Jolanta now trains other dental assistants. She and Dr. Perlmutter
have become a very efficient team to provide quality dental
service in a timely manner. She has the authority, as does every
auxiliary in the office, to offer constructive suggestions in
the best interest of the patient. Especially in the area of
cosmetic dentistry, Jolanta is expected to offer her opinion
about how to improve a patient’s smile. Jolanta has herself
been the beneficiary of Dr. Perlmutter’s cosmetic dentistry,
with her photographs being featured on the reception room wall,
and in Bramalea Dentistry advertisements and website. Jolanta
returned to work full-time, in January, 2006, after a one-year
maternity leave. (Mom, Dad, & daughter are doing well.)
She enjoys working here, and serving our loyal patients. |

| Cathy, our primary hygienist,
has been with us since 1996. She has developed a reputation
amongst our patients as being reliable, gentle and thorough
with her cleanings. She has been a member of the College of
Dental Hygienists of Ontario since 1995. Cathy returned in February,
2006, after a maternity leave, to work here Monday, Tuesday
and Thursdays each week, and one Saturday per month. (Mom, Dad,
& son are doing well.) |

has been providing most of the denture services for Bramalea
Dentistry since 1996. Our denturist is available Thursdays after
4:00 p.m. and if you need emergency denture service at any other
time, Dr. Perlmutter can provide. |

| Tricia is a dental assistant,
who joined us in January, 2004, as a co-op student from CDI
College. She has been well trained here by Nancy, Jolanta, and
Dr. Perlmutter. She obtained H.A.R.P. Certification, allowing
her to make radiographs (x-ray pictures). She passed her Certified
Dental Assistant, Level 2, exams. She works primarily as a chairside
assistant with Dr. Perlmutter, but also uses her Level 2 skills
working with children as a preventive dental assistant. |

|
| Ashley, dental hygienist, joined
us in September, 2005, working 3 days per week during Cathy’s
maternity leave. Ashley is staying with us to share the dental
hygiene duties with Cathy. Ashley first came to Bramalea Dentistry
a few years ago as a dental assisting student. We liked her
then and she was impressed with our office. It was a fortuitous
circumstance that we found each other again when the maternity
leave opportunity arose. We have been very pleased with Ashley
as a hygienist. |

| Anu is a Certified Dental Assistant, trained
in Canada (including some practical training here at Bramalea
Dentistry). She now works as Dr. Oh's assistant. Previously,
in India, she achieved Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education
degrees, and worked there as a high school science teacher.
She is married, with two children. |
 |
| Andre Tal, registered dental technologist,
owner of Talisman Dental Laboratory, has provided most of the
dental laboratory service to Bramalea Dentistry since 1988.
Although not a staff member, he is considered an integral part
of the Bramalea Dentistry team. Patients are often referred
to him for custom colour selection when specialized porcelain
work is needed. Andre helps Dr. Perlmutter design new smiles
for cosmetic dentistry patients. Using digital photography,
he can do cosmetic imaging on his computer, as well as change
the shape of teeth on the patient’s stone casts. Together
with Dr. Perlmutter, Andre has been attending continuing education
courses by the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In 2004,
Andre added the Easyshade electronic
shade matching system to his armamentarium. In 2005, Andre
became a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. |

|
| Laura is a dental hygienist who has worked
with us on Saturdays for several years. |
|
| |
|
| Volunteers, Dr. Perlmutter has welcomed
several dentists (male & female) who were trained in India.
They are studying here and hoping to become licensed to practise
dentistry in Ontario. They are NOT doing dentistry in this office.
They are working as dental assistants here, occasionally. Those
that have passed the Ontario H.A.R.P. Certification, are allowed
to make radiographs. They are enjoying and appreciating the
opportunity to learn from Dr. Perlmutter and his well-trained
staff. If and when regular assistants are unavailable, the "volunteers"
become salaried employees. |
