Tooth Fractured Below Edge of Bone

Jan. 12/05

1.5 has fractured lingual cusp that extends subgingivally and under the margin of alveolar bone. Gingivoplasty and some osteoplasty were done to expose fracture margin to facilitate restoration. Then this photo (above) was made. Then PerioGlas was mixed with patient’s blood and placed interproximally at 1.5 mesial and distal. This was covered with a thin layer of Spongostan (absorbable gelatin sponge), and then Coe-Pak dressing.
Coe-Pak covers lingual and occlusal surfaces after periodontal surgery. Blue-block-out resin is placed to apply ozone interproximally from buccal access, at mesial and distal of 1.5 (40 seconds each). 5 days later, Jan.17, Coe-Pak came off and I retreated the surgical site with ozone for 80 seconds. 2 days later, Jan 19, site was becoming very comfortable and the following post-operative photo was made.
Jan. 19/05 radiograph, one week after surgery.
1.5 & 1.4 will receive IPS Eris porcelain crowns on Apr 8/05.
