| Patient was embarrassed
by his appearance.
|
Very happy gentleman with
new, improved smile, created by Dr. Mel Perlmutter, working
with
Talisman Dental Laboratory and
Michael Litvack, denture therapist.
|
Problems: Many teeth missing;
worn, irregular teeth; overclosed |
|
|
June 20, 2006 - PHASE 1 Initial treatment
|
|
|
Temporary crowns are placed on upper
incisors 1.2 & 1.1, and on 8 lower anterior teeth. Old partial
dentures have been adjusted. Upper left cuspid is enhanced with
composite resin. All of this serves to open the bite and restore
lost vertical dimension. Patient is no longer overclosed. He
became comfortable functioning at this new bite position. This
also improved the appearance of the face, with more lip displayed.
|
September 14, 2006 - PHASE 2
|
| |
Upper incisors 1.2 & 1.1 now have
final crowns made of zirconium and porcelain. New upper and
lower cast metal partial dentures are in place. Lower anterior
8 temporary crowns are still in place, waiting for more dental
insurance benefits to appear in 2007. |
January 30, 2007 - PHASE 3
|
|
| 8 porcelain-on-metal crowns were
made, and placed on lower anterior teeth, adapted to be compatible
with cast metal partial denture. |
|
|
PHASE 4 is being postponed to 2008, anticipating additional
dental insurance benefits, to place crowns on upper left 2.3,
2.4, 2.5 that are currently restored with composite resin
and amalgam.
