Note: An alternative surgical
procedure (free gingival graft) using gingiva from the palate,
could have been done to achieve a similar result, instead
of the 2 pedicle grafts.

Surgical
Procedure |
Midline soft
tissue, including frenum, is cut away.
Split thickness flap, containing labial aspect of 2 papillae
has been repositioned closer to the midline. |

Surgery is completed.
2 similar flaps have been made and repositioned to the midline.
Green sutures are visible. Periosteum covers the bone at the
right and left donor sites. |
(No photo was made of the dressing that was
placed over this surgical site this day.) |

Six days later,
dressing and sutures were removed. Site is healing well. |
