Pointed Cuspids were reshaped in 1984 by Dr. Perlmutter
by direct bonding of composite resin, to make these teeth
resemble lateral incisors.
|
After 4 Empress Porcelain
Restorations |
There has been some wear of the composite resin,
but these restorations have served the patient well for
19 years.
|

After 4 bicuspids were restored
with composite resin. |
|
Four teeth have been shaped
to receive porcelain restorations.
Note: Patient refused to have Orthodontic
Treatment that could have positioned her teeth equally on
both sides. The end result will be a compromised, less than
ideal appearance.
|
During treatment planning, patient was
given the option of using empress porcelain for 4 or 6
or 8 teeth. To minimize her cost, she opted for 4 empress
porcelain restorations plus the less costly composite
resin for 4 bicuspids.
Jagged edges of lower incisors could be
improved with direct bonding, When patient is receptive.
